1. Install and start

1. Install the latest GrooveFinder Windows version.
2. Install the official Yamaha Steinberg USB driver for your keyboard.
3. Connect the keyboard directly by USB and switch it on before starting GrooveFinder.
4. Start GrooveFinder and choose your language.

2. Connect your Yamaha

Open the MIDI settings and select the input and output ports belonging to your Yamaha. Port names may contain Digital Keyboard, Yamaha, Genos or PSR-SX.

Do not select Windows MIDI Mapper or an unrelated audio device. Close other MIDI programs while connecting.

3. Prepare your libraries

The included GrooveFinder library is ready immediately. You can also index your own Yamaha styles without moving or changing the original files.

1. Put your styles in one main folder; subfolders may remain.
2. Open library management and add that main folder.
3. Start the scan and wait until indexing is complete.

Later additions can be scanned again. GrooveFinder does not overwrite your originals.

4. Search and compare

1. Enter the song title and, where possible, the artist.
2. Select all libraries or one personal library.
3. Click Search.
4. Compare the separate GrooveFinder and My Yamaha result groups.

GrooveFinder first gathers musical information and then compares meter, tempo, genre, groove, feel, mood and instrumentation. It distinguishes meters such as 4/4, 6/8 and 7/8. Only suitable results are shown, so there may be fewer than five.

AI and feedback

The matching system learns from feedback on the included GrooveFinder library and on your indexed personal library. When another user later searches for the same song, already available song information can be reused.

5. Send and play

1. Select the result you prefer.
2. Click Send to Instrument.
3. Wait for the confirmation from GrooveFinder and your keyboard.
4. Open or select the received style on the keyboard and start playing.

Intros, variations, endings, OTS and Multi Pads remain available when supported by the style and instrument.

6. Troubleshooting

Error: MIDI port not found

1. Close GrooveFinder.
2. Switch on the keyboard and reconnect the USB cable directly to the computer.
3. Check or reinstall the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver.
4. Close DAWs and other programs that may be using the MIDI port.
5. Restart GrooveFinder and reselect both Yamaha ports.
6. If the port is still missing, restart Windows with the keyboard connected.

A style is sent but does not appear

Check the User/storage area of the keyboard, verify that the selected style format is supported and retry after restarting the keyboard and GrooveFinder in that order.

Enter the licence exactly as received by email. One licence can be activated on up to two computers. For help, contact support@groovefinder.org.

3. Je bibliotheken voorbereiden

De inbegrepen GrooveFinder-bibliotheek is onmiddellijk klaar. Je kunt ook je eigen Yamaha-styles indexeren zonder de oorspronkelijke bestanden te verplaatsen of te veranderen.

1. Plaats je styles in één hoofdmap; submappen mogen blijven bestaan.
2. Open het bibliotheekbeheer en voeg die hoofdmap toe.
3. Start de scan en wacht tot het indexeren klaar is.

Nieuwe toevoegingen kun je later opnieuw scannen. GrooveFinder overschrijft je originele styles niet.

4. Zoeken en vergelijken

1. Typ de songtitel en indien mogelijk de uitvoerder.
2. Kies alle bibliotheken of één persoonlijke bibliotheek.
3. Klik op Zoeken.
4. Vergelijk de afzonderlijke groepen GrooveFinder en Mijn Yamaha.

GrooveFinder zoekt eerst muzikale informatie op en vergelijkt daarna maatsoort, tempo, genre, groove, feel, sfeer en instrumentatie. Het onderscheidt bijvoorbeeld 4/4, 6/8 en 7/8. Alleen geschikte resultaten verschijnen; dat kunnen er minder dan vijf zijn.

AI en feedback

Het zoeksysteem leert van feedback voor zowel de inbegrepen GrooveFinder-bibliotheek als je geïndexeerde persoonlijke bibliotheek. Wanneer iemand later dezelfde song zoekt, kan reeds beschikbare songinformatie opnieuw worden gebruikt.

5. Verzenden en spelen

1. Selecteer het resultaat dat je verkiest.
2. Klik op Verzenden naar instrument.
3. Wacht op de bevestiging van GrooveFinder en je keyboard.
4. Open of selecteer de ontvangen style op het keyboard en begin te spelen.

Intro’s, variaties, endings, OTS en Multi Pads blijven beschikbaar wanneer de style en het instrument die ondersteunen.

6. Problemen oplossen

Fout: MIDI-poort niet gevonden

1. Sluit GrooveFinder.
2. Schakel het keyboard in en sluit de USB-kabel rechtstreeks opnieuw aan.
3. Controleer of herinstalleer de Yamaha Steinberg USB-driver.
4. Sluit DAW’s en andere programma’s die de MIDI-poort kunnen gebruiken.
5. Start GrooveFinder opnieuw en selecteer beide Yamaha-poorten opnieuw.
6. Herstart Windows met het keyboard aangesloten als de poort nog ontbreekt.

De style is verzonden maar verschijnt niet

Controleer de User/opslagmap van het keyboard, kijk of het styleformaat wordt ondersteund en probeer opnieuw nadat je eerst het keyboard en daarna GrooveFinder hebt herstart.

1. Legen Sie Ihre Styles in einen Hauptordner; Unterordner dürfen bleiben.
2. Fügen Sie diesen Ordner in der Bibliotheksverwaltung hinzu.
3. Starten Sie den Scan und warten Sie, bis die Indexierung abgeschlossen ist.

4. Suchen und vergleichen

1. Songtitel und möglichst den Interpreten eingeben.
2. Alle Bibliotheken oder eine persönliche Bibliothek wählen.
3. Auf Suchen klicken.
4. Die getrennten Gruppen GrooveFinder und Mein Yamaha vergleichen.

GrooveFinder ermittelt Musikinformationen und vergleicht Taktart, Tempo, Genre, Groove, Feel, Stimmung und Instrumentierung. Auch 4/4, 6/8 und 7/8 werden unterschieden. Es erscheinen nur passende Ergebnisse, daher können es weniger als fünf sein.

KI und Feedback

Das System lernt aus Feedback sowohl für die mitgelieferte GrooveFinder-Bibliothek als auch für Ihre indexierte eigene Bibliothek. Bereits ermittelte Songinformationen können bei späteren Suchen wiederverwendet werden.

5. Senden und spielen

1. Wählen Sie Ihr bevorzugtes Ergebnis.
2. Klicken Sie auf An Instrument senden.
3. Warten Sie auf die Bestätigung.
4. Öffnen oder wählen Sie den empfangenen Style am Keyboard.

Intros, Variationen, Endings, OTS und Multi Pads bleiben erhalten, soweit Style und Instrument sie unterstützen.

6. Fehlerbehebung

Fehler: MIDI-Port nicht gefunden

1. GrooveFinder schließen.
2. Keyboard einschalten und USB-Kabel direkt neu verbinden.
3. Yamaha Steinberg USB-Treiber prüfen oder neu installieren.
4. DAWs und andere MIDI-Programme schließen.
5. GrooveFinder neu starten und beide Yamaha-Ports neu wählen.
6. Falls nötig Windows mit verbundenem Keyboard neu starten.

Style gesendet, aber nicht sichtbar

Prüfen Sie den User-/Speicherbereich des Keyboards und das unterstützte Styleformat. Starten Sie zuerst das Keyboard und danach GrooveFinder neu.

Le système apprend des retours pour la bibliothèque GrooveFinder et votre bibliothèque personnelle indexée. Les données de chanson déjà trouvées peuvent être réutilisées lors d’une recherche ultérieure.

5. Envoyer

Sélectionnez un résultat, cliquez sur Envoyer vers l’instrument, attendez la confirmation puis ouvrez le style reçu sur le clavier. Les intros, variations, endings, OTS et Multi Pads sont conservés lorsqu’ils sont compatibles.

6. Dépannage

Port MIDI introuvable

1. Fermez GrooveFinder.
2. Allumez le clavier et reconnectez directement l’USB.
3. Vérifiez ou réinstallez le pilote Yamaha Steinberg.
4. Fermez les autres programmes MIDI.
5. Redémarrez GrooveFinder et resélectionnez les deux ports Yamaha.
